“Sweet Alchemy” – Beauty of Edible Art  by CANDY5NYC

Candy5NYC is a traditional Japanese candy artist who has captivated the U.S. with her intricate and mesmerizing creations for over 30 years. She practices Amezaiku, a form of candy crafting that was brought to Japan from China during the Edo period and has since become a 300-year-old tradition. Today, only three Amezaiku artisans in the United States carry on this ancient craft, and Candy5 is not only one of them but also the first female candy artist in this field.

Her career includes a notable tenure at Disney World. Since relocating to NYC, she has become a sought-after talent, frequently hired for private celebrity parties, Yankees family events, bar mitzvahs, birthday celebrations, and more. This exhibition marks a unique fusion of her delicate craft with the theme of wellness, a central focus of our salon. Historically, candy in Japan was used not only for enjoyment but also for medicinal purposes, symbolizing a harmonious blend of beauty and health.

“Sweet Alchemy”: The Beauty of Edible Art serves as the overarching theme of this exhibition, where the elegance of Venus is personified in each candy creation, reflecting the profound beauty that lies within us all. Each piece is meticulously crafted to be a feast for the eyes, a visual delight that embodies the aesthetic and cultural significance of traditional Japanese confectionery. Candy5NYC’s continuous curiosity and growth in her meticulous artisan technique make this exhibition a must-see, showcasing her dedication to the craft and her evolving artistry.

The true magic of these candies is realized when they are consumed, merging their external beauty with our internal wellness, igniting a radiant glow that symbolizes the ultimate beauty and vitality in our lives. Join us in this celebration of art, culture, and wellness, and experience the transformative power of beauty both seen and felt.

“Sweet Alchemy” – Beauty of Edible Art by CANDY5NYC  is on view for 3 months, beginning SEPTEMBER 12th – NOVEMBER 30th during operating hours at Jewell House https://www.jewellhouse.nyc: 10am-7pm daily. All pieces are for sale. Please inquire.
