Community Recycling Day
Wednesday, April 15th
It’s time for spring cleaning! Bring your old electronics and textiles to donate at our Community Recycling Day on Wednesday, April 15th from 10 am – 2 pm at the Flatiron South Plaza! In partnership with the Lower East Side Ecology Center (LESEC) and Councilmember Harvey Epstein, be a part of this green initiative during Earth Month!
For electronics we accept: working & non-working computers, monitors, printers/scanners, keyboards, mice, cables, TVs, VCRs & DVD players, phones, audio/visual equipment, cell phones & PDAs.
For textiles we accept: clothing, shoes, towels, hats, bags, gloves, linens & bedding, curtains, clean, dry & unsoiled fabric. For a complete list of accepted items, click here.
Plus, we will also accept clean plastic bags and reusable grocery bags in partnership with SoMad®.
Car-Free Earth Day
Saturday, April 25th
Car-Free Earth Day will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 10 am – 4 pm. Hosted by the NYC Department of Transportation (DOT), this annual citywide event celebrates Earth Day with select city streets open for walking, biking, and car-free strolling.
Stop by the Flatiron South Plaza to join Flatiron NoMad Partnership for family-friendly programming (weather permitting,) including:
🏓 Ping-pong with SPIN
🎲 Games of corn hole and Connect Four
🎨 NYC DOT will showcase The Plastic Sea, a public art installation by Venezuelan architect and interdisciplinary artist Frahydel Falczuk
🚶 Plus, activations throughout Broadway from our neighbors Harry Potter NY and Virgin Hotels NYC

Dreamland Sirens by Charlotte Colbert
In partnership with NYC DOT Art, the art installation Dreamland Sirens by multi-media artist and filmmaker Charlotte Colbert is on view through May 27th. Located at the Flatiron South Plaza, the 30′ high steel sculpture curated by New Public is a part of Colbert’s first exhibition in New York City.
