This time we are highlighting our heritage by welcoming a Japanese artist into our community. His beautiful ocean themed work will invite you all into the healing power of the ocean.    This exhibition invites everyone to experience the healing power of the ocean through his artwork. By showcasing the beauty, light, and creatures that he sees underwater, he aims to evoke a sense of calmness and healing in the viewer. The layers of emotions that come and go, much like the waves of the ocean, seem to represent the ups and downs of life and the quiet grounded place that they eventually settle into, representing a place of peace and solace for the soul. This also resonates with the layering process of his resin art,  how resin is used to encase objects such as sand, shells, or other items and then hardens into a clear, glossy, and durable material. Overall, Hamamura's exhibition seems to be a reminder of the beauty and serenity of the ocean and the healing power that it can bring to our lives. “The Healing Power of The Ocean” – be like water by YUJI HAMAMURA is on view for 3 months, beginning June 8 – August 31 during operating hours at Jewell House https://www.jewellhouse.nyc: 10am-7pm daily.
