Portal in New York City is located on the Flatiron South Plaza at Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 23rd Street. Portal in Dublin, Ireland is located on the capital’s main street, O’Connell Street.

Portal has daily hours of operation from 8AM-3PM EST.

Portal is presented by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership and in collaboration with the NYC Department of Transportation’s Art Program (NYC DOT Art) and the Simons Foundation. Portal is founded by Lithuanian artist and entrepreneur Benediktas Gylys.

about portal: where new york city meets dublin, ireland
Portal was founded by Lithuanian artist and entrepreneur Benediktas Gylys as an invitation to interact and foster human connection around the world. This one-of-a-kind interactive, global art installation gives people the opportunity to experience New York City and Dublin, Ireland in real-time.
Portal will make its North American debut on the Flatiron South Plaza, next to the famed Flatiron Building at the dynamic intersection of Broadway, Fifth Avenue, and 23rd Street. In Dublin, Portal will be installed facing the capital’s main street, O’Connell Street and will capture the iconic vista of both Dublin’s famous GPO building and the Spire together.
Portal will be connected between New York City and Dublin, Ireland from spring 2024 through Labor Day. Flatiron NoMad Partnership will host public programming surrounding Portal, including an event to celebrate the NYCxDESIGN Festival this May.
