Drummer, composer and bandleader Timothy Angulo returns to the Jazz Gallery, Wed, Jun 24th.

Originally from Berkley, California, Timothy Angulo moved to NYC to earn his BFA in Jazz and Contemporary Music from The New School, where he studied under Vijay Iyer and Tyshawn Sorey. Angulo has since remained a staple of the contemporary Jazz scene in NYC.

Angulo is a member of the Bill Frisell Trio as well as the experimental band L’Rain and has performed alongside many other notable musicians, such as Mulatu Astatke, Reggie Workman and Ravi Coltrane. The kinds of music that Angulo has mastered is varied in its genre and style. His music is heavily influenced by all music of the African Diaspora and Classical Music.
