About Noir et Blanc
Opened in 1989 and tucked into New York City’s Flatiron/NoMad District, Noir et Blanc is a contemporary boutique for the fashion-conscious shopper in all of us! The store’s French-inspired essence is about sophistication, class, French chic and timelessness. Owner Deborah Koenigsberger, former model and stylist, blends sharp design and material consciousness in her hand-picked selections in response to today’s cultural influences, keeping it classic and on-trend at the same time. Shopping at Noir et Blanc is like having a personal stylist of your very own!
About Neta Raanan & Nick Pennington
Neta Raanan is a tenor saxophonist and composer raised in New Jersey. As a teenager, Neta was drawn to the mysterious black and white photos of Bird and Dizzy, Thelonious Monk and Lester Young perched on the walls of the record stores in New York City. She began attending creative music workshops all over the east coast, participating in youth orchestras and ensembles, as well as frequenting local venues like the Village Vanguard where she was exposed to artists such as Paul Motian, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and others.
Nick Pennington is a guitarist, composer and educator based in New York City. Originally from Adelaide, Australia, Nick’s passion for Jazz and improvised music compelled him to move his life to the United States. As a performer, Nick’s career has seen him on the national and international stage – both as a sideman and bandleader. Nick has also been the recipient of several grants – most notably The Helpmann Academy Fellowship in 2018, which funded the development and recording of his second album release, Woman In The Stars, a collaboration with drummer Angus Mason.
