WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION INCLUDING LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Join us for a fun and crafty time as we celebrate the holiday season by making lovely dried flower wreaths. These handmade beauties, adorned with dried flowers, leaves, and personal touches, will add a natural and charming touch to your holiday decor.

You can choose to make either two mini wreaths (great for gifting or for kids – this workshop is kid-friendly, so bring your little ones) or one medium-sized wreath to decorate your home.

The two mini wreaths are about 3.5 inches in diameter, and they’ll get a bit bigger when finished with dried flowers. The medium-sized wreath is about 6 inches in diameter and will also expand as you add the dried flowers. Because we’re using dried flowers and leaves, these wreaths will last for years and can be enjoyed throughout the winter season.

Everything you need will be ready and waiting for you, including dried flowers, grapevine wreaths, and ribbons. You’ll have the materials to create your special wreath, and our instructor, Hijiri, will be there to assist you every step of the way.

These versatile wreaths can be used as delightful ornaments (if you pick two mini wreaths), pretty wall decorations, or eye-catching centerpieces for your holiday table with a candle (not included). You can let your creativity run wild!

As an extra special touch, each workshop participant will receive a simple kraft box (for those who choose the mini wreath option) and a holiday-inspired letterpressed card. This not only lets you create a unique holiday decoration but also provides a lovely way to gift your handcrafted wreath to someone you care about.

WORKSHOP FACILITATOR DETAILS

Instructor: Hijiri Shepherd

Hijiri owns and designs at Heartfish Press (http://www.heartfishpress.com), a studio located in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in letterpress printing and floral design. The studio offers a variety of letterpress prints, cards, and custom design services that involve creating floral designs using dried flowers.

Hijiri studied graphic design in Tokyo and pursued art direction at a university in San Francisco. After completing her studies, she worked as an art director at an advertising agency. In 2008, she moved to New York City and started working as a freelance designer. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for letterpress printing and the joy of crafting handmade items, which motivated her to establish her own business. Recently, Hijiri has been devoting a lot of her creative energy to exploring the art of dried flower arrangement, and she has developed a deep love for this craft along the way.
