District Event: Pencil Pals Pop-Up
3/27
3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
The Pencil Pals Pop-Up is a public activation intended to prompt curiosity, creativity, humor, and delight. The pop-up will take place at the pedestrian extension space in front of Aesop on 27th Street and Broadway on Thursday, March 27th from 3 – 6 pm.
The pop-up will feature drawing prompts written by 1st and 2nd graders, centered around the question: What’s it like to be a grown-up? Grown-ups can browse the prompts, then pick one to draw. They can also leave their own written prompt, inspired by the question: What’s it like to be a kid? These will be kept and returned to the same classroom of students.
This pop-up is the Experience Design component of Tao Tao Holmes’ MFA thesis project, “Gifting Connection, Not Consumerism: How to Foster Ongoing Relationships with Kids.”
