Matchaful has opened its newest cafe, bringing the brand’s high-quality Japanese matcha and ritual-focused experience to the neighborhood. “We’re so excited to bring Matchaful to the Flatiron and NoMad community and create a space where people can slow down and find a moment of ritual in the middle of the city,” says Founder Hannah Habes. “This opening comes in response to the incredible support we’ve received from the community and growing demand for a location in the area, giving more guests a place to reconnect and make a daily matcha ritual part of their routine.” Established in 2012, Matchaful uses its Farm-to-Whisk™ thoughtful sourcing model to work directly with family-owned tea farms in Japan, delivering exceptional matcha while honoring the people, traditions, and craftsmanship of every cup.

Upon entering the cafe, guests are welcomed into a calming space and an invitation to relax amidst the bustle of the city. The interior features natural materials throughout as well as a live bonsai tree symbolizing the patience, care, and balance that is found in creating intentional rituals. At the Flatiron location, Matchaful has debuted a couple exclusive items including the Park Ave Peach Matcha, a seasonal offering available through Labor Day and made with Hikari Ceremonial Matcha, white peach purée, house-made oat milk, maple, and Madagascan vanilla bean. Leon’s Bagels has recently landed in NoMad, marking their sixth location in New York City following their inception in 2021 with their Greenwich Village storefront.
