Motoishi, the premium Japanese Wagyu BBQ restaurant has landed in NoMad. “We’re thrilled to bring Motoishi’s premium Japanese Wagyu BBQ experience to the Flatiron & NoMad neighborhood,” says the Motoishi Team. “This area has such a strong mix of local energy, culture, and appreciation for great dining, and we’re excited to become part of the community and welcome both neighbors and visitors to experience Motoishi.” Specializing in an authentic yakiniku-style dining experience, guests can enjoy A5 Miyazaki wagyu as well as American wagyu in a vibrant ambiance. Upon entering the space, guests are immersed into the atmosphere of a Japanese yakiniku restaurant featuring warm lighting, wood details, vintage-style Japanese signage, and private booths. The menu offers both set courses and a la carte options including ramen, rice bowls, and hot pot. To try a range of dishes, order the 6-Cut Assortment Set that is accompanied with vegetables and Kirimochi, Japanese rice cakes.

If ordering from a la carte, choose from a selection of appetizers and sides to pair with your signature wagyu. Start with the Shrimp Vegetable Pancake and Beef Tartare with Seaweed Crisps. For your main, pick your favorite wagyu cut from NY Strip to the Flatiron Steak. Or, try a Signature Marinade like the Wasabi Kurabi made with tender wagyu short rib marinated in Motoishi’s homemade wasabi tare sauce. Pair with a side of Truffle Mushroom Stone Pot Rice, slow-cooked and served tableside. Patsy’s Pizzeria, 23 Lexington Avenue, (212) 475-1924, @patsyspizzeriaflatiron
The historic Patsy’s Pizzeria has opened a new downtown flagship within the Freehand New York hotel. Founded in 1933 by Pasquale Lancieri in Harlem, Patsy’s is one of New York City’s oldest pizzerias and specializes in using coal-ovens. With this latest expansion, Patsy’s is bringing their beloved classics to a new neighborhood while maintaining quality and tradition. Led by Chef Pietro Aletto, Patsy’s bridges their timeless dishes with new takes on popular offerings. The pizza is still made with the same recipe using double-zero flour and fermented for 24 hours before being baked in a custom coal oven to create a thin crust, crispy pizza. Choose from a selection of eight 16-inch pizzas like the Classic New York, topped with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce that’s been simmered for hours, and basil. Meat lovers can order the Sausage & Peppers pizza featuring onions, green bell peppers, mozzarella, basil, and shave pecorino.

In addition to their iconic pizzas, Patsy’s also makes homemade pastas daily including the Lasagna Napoletana with beef ragù, béchamel sauce, and mozzarella. The 3-Cheese Tortellini is hand-filled with ricotta salata and served in a ‘Njuda tomato sauce. The menu also features curated entrees from Swordfish Milanese with a chamomile herb crust to Chicken Parmigiana. Add on a side or two to your meal such as Broccoli Rabe or a Little Gem Caesar Salad. Pair with a specialty cocktail such as a Patsy’s Martini, a “My Way” Bellini, or a Smoked Barrel Aged Negroni. A variety of wines, beers and zero proof cocktails are also available. Save room for dessert and indulge in a Rum Baba Bundt Cake or Tiramisu. Visit Patsy’s Pizzeria to experience a New York City institution in a contemporary setting! Patsy’s Pizzeria is open daily.
