Devoción, 1134 Broadway, (929) 262-1241@devocionusa
The New York-based Colombian coffee roaster Devoción has opened their newest location in NoMad. “When we entered the New York market ten years ago, I had a vision to deliver the freshest coffee available, transporting our customers to origin with a single cup,” says Devoción founder Steven Sutton. “Now, with our sixth café in NYC, we remain dedicated to this principle, transforming even more New Yorkers’ coffee experiences as we expand across the city.” Upon entering Devoción, guests are met by a welcoming atmosphere amidst a design that pays tribute to Colombia’s landscapes. Elements of natural wood, concrete, Carrara marble, and washed paint are present throughout the space that is deeply connected to Devoción’s roots. A signature feature is the chandelier planter which brings lush vegetation into the design and emphasizes Devoción’s commitment to the philosophy that architecture and landscape exist in harmony.

A certified B Corp, Devoción serves farm-fresh coffee, going from origin to cup in as little as 10 days. The coffee is sourced directly from their network of producers at origin, the beans are processed at Devoción’s dry mill in Bogotá, shipped overnight via FedEx, and roasted in Williamsburg. Guests can enjoy a variety of the freshest coffees, aromáticas, and teas paired with a selection of flavorful pastries. Head to Devoción for your next coffee in the neighborhood! Devoción is open Monday – Friday from 7 am – 7 pm and weekends from 7:30 am – 7 pm.

OPTO, 35 West 20th Street, (212) 463-7890, @opto.nyc
The new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant OPTO is situated in the former Periyali space and is led by Executive Chef Alex Tubero and Co-Owner/Partner Nicola Kotsoni. OPTO meaning “to desire” and “to vision” in Latin, offers an elevated and approachable take on Mediterranean cuisine. Tubero’s long partnership with Kotsoni, who owned and operated Periyali for 38 years, will continue to influence the dining experience at OPTO. “OPTO is about the service, quality, and creating a space where people feel at home,” says Kotsoni. The interior has been transformed to include a neutral color palette featuring jewel-toned, raised velvet banquettes and a large white marble bar, framed by a bronze arch and mother-of-pearl tiles. OPTO’s design honors its predecessor with nods to its original décor while maintaining an elegant ambiance.

To begin your dinner start off with a couple appetizers such as Whipped Sheep’s Milk Ricotta served with artisanal Tuscan chestnut honey and the King Salmon Crudo served with crispy lavash. For an entrée, enjoy a variety of meat and seafood dishes. Savor the Branzino from the Canary Islands or the Filet Mignon Shish. Handmade pastas are emphasized on OPTO’s menu, including the vibrant Tagliolini al Amalfi Limone featuring Amalfi lemons. Pair your meal with a craft cocktail, each inspired by Tubero’s favorite quotes. Try the Today You Are You made with Spring 44 Vodka, limoncello, and mint. Guests can also choose from a range of spritzes and a curated selection of wines from Italy and France. Save room for dessert and indulge in a Dark Chocolate Mousse or classic Almond Butter Cookies. Join OPTO for your next dinner out with friends and family! OPTO is open daily. Make your reservation.
