New Neighbor: La Compagnie Wine Bar Flatiron

We’re pleased to welcome La Compagnie Wine Bar Flatiron, the new wine bar from Experimental Group. Located at 6 West 24th Street, the neighborhood wine bar serves local and international wines as well as a variety of food offerings.

“Our first location of Compagnie in SoHo was incredibly well received, and we had been looking for a second location to expand our footprint in the city for a long time,” says Romée de Goriainoff, co-founder and partner of Experimental Group. “We found the perfect spot in Manhattan’s beautiful and historic Flatiron District. The incredible building, erected in the 1860s and emblematic of the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 20th century, is the right home for our newest wine bar and Experimental Cocktail Club’s revival.”

Upon entering the space, guests are met by a welcoming ambiance. The custom interior, created by renowned designer Dorothée Meilichzon, features brickwork and original parquet flooring highlighting both natural materials and light. To start off your evening, order a glass or bottle from a curated list of hundreds of bottles from small producers. Wines by the glass include whites, reds and bubbly. Try a glass of Domaine Pellé, a sauvignon blanc from Menetou-Salon, Loire, France or a glass of Sébastien David, a cabernet franc from Loire Valley, France. Compagnie Flatiron also offers zero proof beverages such as Leitz, a non-alcoholic sparkling rosé and Parch Prickly Paloma, an agave-forward cocktail.

Pair your wine with local and seasonal-driven plates from the evening menu led by Managing Partner and Executive Chef Eric Bolyard. Featuring grilled meats, sustainable seafood, and regional vegetables, dishes are curated to spotlight a selection of fine wines such as Burgundies and Bordeaux, Barolos and Brunellos, and old Californian and other American vintages. Order a couple small snacks such as Farm Radishes with smoked tahini aioli and Chickpeas with za’atar & feta. Try a few skewers as well like the A5 Wagyu with shiso salsa verde or the Chilled Prawn with guindilla pepper & anchovy mayo. Highlighted large plates include Cavatelli with crab, charred corn and Thai basil and Flx Riesling-Steamed Clams with sungold tomatoes and brown butter.
