New Neighbor: The Salon at SONA

We’re excited to welcome The Salon at SONA, the new cocktail and tea lounge within the Indian restaurant located at 36 East 20th Street in Flatiron. Restaurateur Maneesh K. Goyal debuted The Salon at SONA as a respite away from the bustle of NYC where friends can get together over drinks and small bites in a welcoming ambiance.

“There is nothing like this neighborhood, and I’m thrilled to give our fellow local residents something entirely new with The Salon at SONA,” says Maneesh. “Come for tea or coffee and stay for a drink. Share a snack — or enjoy it all to yourself. I’m there all the time…I’ll be sure to say a personal hello when you arrive.”

Upon entering The Salon at SONA, guests are met with a vibrant interior complimented by colorful décor throughout the space. Designed by Robert Fowler of RLFIII, the neighborhood cocktail and tea lounge features elegant drapery, marble tables, and custom banquettes that create a relaxed and stylish environment.

The curated cocktail menu features innovative drinks hand-crafted by Samantha Casuga, Lead Bartender of New York’s legendary Temple Bar. Highlights include the Mango Gibson Martini made with Smoke Lab vodka, dry vermouth, pickle brine, and pickled mango and the Bengal Lounge featuring Empress gin, grapefruit, rose, cinnamon, lemon, and champagne. G&T enthusiasts can enjoy four specialty Gin & Tonics created with different gins and flavor notes. Select beer and wines by the glass are available as well as non-alcoholic beverages such as The Lychee Libra made with rosemary-infused butterfly pea tea, lychee, and lemonade.

Additionally, The Salon at SONA serves House of Waris Botanicals, a thoughtfully sourced collection of the finest organic teas and exquisite herbal blends. Enjoy black, green, and herbal teas from Organic Chai to Organic Turmeric Honeybush.

Pair your drink with bistro-style plates filled with flavor. Order the Crab Puri Caviar made with butter garlic crab in a crisp puri topped with Kaluga Amber caviar and Samosa Pinwheels featuring aloo paneer with a choice of tangy tamarind chutney or cool mint chutney. Save room for a sweet treat and try the Cinnamon Sonhos, a Goan delicacy.
