New Neighbors

Nov 30, 2022

Several exciting new businesses have recently opened in the neighborhood. This month’s roundup features a variety of new neighbors, from where to go for unique desserts to where to play a round of mini golf. Stay in the know with the latest New Neighbors in Flatiron & NoMad.

Lysée, 44 East 21st Street, @lysee.nyc
Founded by Chef Eunji Lee, formerly the Executive Pastry Chef at the 2 Michelin-starred restaurant Jungsik, Lysée is a pastry boutique influenced by French and Korean cultures. Lysée is also inspired by Chef Lee’s love of pastry as edible art and offers unique desserts as well as traditional viennoiserie. Try a classic Kouign Amann that is both airy and rich in flavor or Full Moon 2.0, a round croissant filled with a decadent hazelnut & chocolate spread. For more complex treats, order the Lysée, a signature mousse cake made with Korean toasted brown rice mousse with caramel, elliot pecan sablé, and praline. Don’t forget to try the Corn, a delicious surprise of corn mousse cake with crunchy sablé and grilled corn cream. Additional offerings include Experimental Shortbread, Very Important Chocolate Cake, and Corn Brioche. Lysée is open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 – 6 pm.
