Rizzoli Music Aperitivo is delighted to partner again with the Peperoncino Jazz Festival to build another bridge between the Italian and the New York jazz scenes. Rizzoli Bookstore will host the talented Neapolitan drummer Elio Coppola, who, despite his young age, is well established on both the Italian and the international jazz scenes. His resume reads like a Who’s Who, and includes prestigious collaborations with the likes of Enrico Rava, Benny Golson, Peter Bernstein, David Kikoski and Ronnie Cuber just to name a few. Coppola will be joined by two great New York-based musicians: saxophone giant Eric Alexander, who is internationally-recognized for his sophisticated hard- and post-bop style and has appeared on countless albums as leader, sideman, composer and producer and in-demand bassist Alexander Claffy, who has played with artist such as Jimmy Cobb, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Christian Scott, Wallace Rooney etc. The trio’s repertoire will include standards from the American songbook, original songs, and of course some of the Italian classics known and loved throughout the world.
