START WITH LOVE: PRIDE IN FLATIRON & NOMAD

Happy Pride! The Flatiron NoMad Partnership proudly presents “Start With Love: PRIDE in Flatiron & NoMad” – our first-ever cultural program honoring Pride Month and celebrating our neighborhood’s legacy as the official starting point of the iconic NYC Pride March.

Throughout June, we’re spotlighting the joy, creativity, and inclusivity that make Flatiron & NoMad a place where everyone can come together and celebrate love in all its forms — through vibrant placemaking, the historic Pride March, and support for our LGBTQIA+ owned businesses.

Some highlights of our activations for Pride include:

  • Live music pop-ups at LGBTQIA+ owned businesses this Saturday, June 21st in collaboration with Make Music New York
  • Rainbow Adirondack chairs located in our public spaces
  • Blooming Together Photo Frame on the Flatiron North Plaza by artist Molly Gambardella

MOVERS & SHAKERS: MANEESH K. GOYAL & ALVINA PATEL BUXANI, CO-OWNERS OF PASSERINE

In honor of Pride Month, we recently had the opportunity to interview Maneesh K. Goyal and Alvina Patel Buxani, Co-Owners of seasonal Indian restaurant Passerine located at 36 East 20th Street.

“We are proud New Yorkers, each having lived here for more than 25 years,” says Maneesh and Alvina. “We also both live and raise our young families in Flatiron. Our joint dream was to pay homage to our Indian heritage and open something for New York, by New Yorkers. Passerine is a joint love letter — to both India & New York.”
