Attend the first-ever NoMad Jazz Festival! Celebrate world class music with free pop-up jazz performances from August 3-8 at neighborhood venues before culminating at the main festival on August 9-10 in Madison Square Park. JOIN US THIS SUNDAY FOR OUR GILDED GATSBY JAZZ PARTY

Kick off the NoMad Jazz Festival by joining us this Sunday, August 3rd from 1 – 5 pm on the Flatiron North Plaza for our Gilded Gatsby Jazz Party in collaboration with Michael Arenella.

Live jazz, vintage glamour and timeless style await at this free event which will include a range of performances and activities not to be missed, including:

MOVERS & SHAKERS: JANET LUHRS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE JAZZ GALLERY

Meet Janet Luhrs, Executive Director of performing arts nonprofit The Jazz Gallery, located at 1158 Broadway, 5th Floor.

“Jazz is a genre that has the ability to foster understanding, encourage unity and deepen humanity,” says Janet. “It has long been our vision to bring great Jazz to a larger audience and the NoMad Jazz Festival enables us to share this fabulous music with the entire community.”

Janet discusses her role at The Jazz Gallery, its mission for the past 30 years, and what she likes most about Flatiron & NoMad.

SUMMER STREETS ARE BACK THIS SATURDAY

NYC Summer Streets return! On Saturdays, August 2, 9, & 16 from 7 am – 3 pm, NYC’s streets will be open for people to play, walk, run, and bike.

Enjoy nearly eight miles of car-free streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to East Harlem including blocks of Park Avenue South through Flatiron & NoMad.

Enjoy barbecue, fun, and music at National Night Out next Tuesday, August 5th at
5 pm at the following locations: Playground at MS 104 on 20th Street & 2nd Avenue and McCaffery Playground on West 43rd Street between 8th and 9th Avenue.

Con Edison Work Notice: Through November 28, Fifth Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets will be impacted by gas line upgrades each day. Expect lane closures, limited street parking, and generator noise throughout the project.

Free Walking Tours: Discover the local history of Flatiron & NoMad during a free walking tour! Walking tours happen the first Sunday of every month at 11 am, rain or shine. You’ll meet one of our tour guides at the tip of the Flatiron Building for a 90-minute tour. Learn more.

Link NYC LinkLocal Program: LinkNYC has expanded its free ad offerings for local small businesses. Creative features that were previously only available through the paid LinkLocal Plus tier are now free for all LinkLocal users. LinkNYC has partnered with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to host monthly webinars that help New York City-based organizations learn how to take advantage of the LinkLocal program.

Street Closures:

  • West 29th Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway will be closed from 12:01 am Saturday to 8 pm Sunday through August 24th to facilitate crane operation.
