NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY) Update: Beginning September 1, 2026, businesses located within the Midtown South Commercial Waste Zone (CWZ)–which includes the Flatiron & NoMad Neighborhoods–must have a new waste collection agreement with a DSNY-authorized CWZ carter. If your business currently contracts directly with a private waste hauler, please note that new contracts must be signed by August 31, 2026. If a new agreement is not in place by September 1, DSNY will assign your business an authorized carter at the maximum allowable rate and minimum allowable pickup frequency. Additional information about the program can be found here.
