Día DE MUERTOS RETURNS to Flatiron & NoMad NEXT MONTH!

Community Board 5 Transportation Committee Meeting: Tomorrow, Sept. 24

Manhattan Storefront Wellbeing Survey: The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to take the Manhattan Storefront Wellbeing Survey. Your input will help shape policies and initiatives that support retail businesses. The survey will be open through November 20.

NYC DOT 6th Ave Updates: Beginning this fall, NYC DOT will implement offset bus lanes and safety improvements along 6th Avenue, from Houston Street to 31st Street. Please view the flyer for more information.

DSNY Update: As of September 1, 2026, businesses located within the Midtown South Commercial Waste Zone (CWZ)–which includes the Flatiron & NoMad Neighborhoods–must have a new waste collection agreement with a DSNY-authorized CWZ carter. If your business currently contracts directly with a private waste hauler, please note that new contracts must have been signed by August 31, 2026. • Street Festival: Saturday, September 26 on Sixth Avenue from 14th Street to 23rd Street
• American Muslim Day Parade: Sunday, September 27 on Madison Avenue from 27th Street to 39th Street

Street Closures:

• West 20th Street between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be closed from 11am to 11:59pm Saturday and Sunday through September 29 as part of ongoing construction projects in the area.
• East 22nd Street between Broadway and Park Avenue South will be closed from 5am to 11:59pm Saturday and Sunday through October 4 for building inspection from boom truck.
• East 25th Street between Park Avenue South and Lexington Avenue will be closed from 5am Saturday through 7pm Sunday through October 4 for main and assist to hoist HVAC equipment.
• West 28th Street between Seventh Avenue and Sixth Avenue will be closed from 5am to 11:59am Sunday through October 4 for building inspection from boom truck.
• East 31 Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South will be closed from 5:30am to 12:30pm Monday through Friday through October 12 for façade inspection.

Con Edison Work Notices:

• Now – September 25, from 7am – 3:30pm, Con Edison will perform ECS support work and continue hand care excavations at the intersection of East 29th Street and Fifth Avenue.
• Now – October 30, Con Edison will be performing gas upgrade work on West 25th Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue on weekdays from 7am – 4pm.
