Join us at the Flatiron NoMad Partnership’s 20th Annual Meeting on
Wednesday, October 21 at 4 pm at Mastercard NYC Tech Hub (150 Fifth Avenue).

Community members are invited to join as we meet to celebrate the accomplishments of the past 20 years and discuss what’s to come for Flatiron & NoMad over the next 12 months.

Our 5th aNNUAL Día DE MUERTOS Celebration Returns on October 28

Join the Flatiron NoMad Partnership to celebrate Día de Muertos, the sacred Mexican tradition of pre-Hispanic origin that celebrates the memory and presence of those who have passed.

This year’s program will center around Twenty Petal Flower, an interactive community altar created through a through a cross-cultural collaboration between Mestiz Studio in Mexico and Brooklyn-based Powerhouse Arts. The altar will be unveiled as part of our 5th annual Día de Muertos celebration on Wednesday, October 28 from 3-7 pm on the Flatiron North Plaza.

NYC DOT Capital Reconstruction Public Workshops: October 14 & 15

Help shape the future of Flatiron & NoMad’s public spaces!

The NYC Department of Transportation is hosting Flatiron Plaza Capital Reconstruction public workshops next Wednesday, October 14 and Thursday, October 15 from 12pm – 2pm on the Flatiron South Plaza (Broadway between 22nd & 23rd Street).

Attend to learn more about the vision for the future of neighborhood plazas and shared streets and to share feedback on draft designs. These workshops will help shape design and programming for future iterations of the Flatiron Public Plazas, NoMad Piazza, Worth Square, and Broadway from 21st Street to 27th Street and Fifth Avenue from 22nd Street to 26th Street.

Manhattan Storefront Wellbeing Survey: The Manhattan Chamber of Commerce invites local businesses to take the Manhattan Storefront Wellbeing Survey. Your input will help shape policies and initiatives that support retail businesses. The survey will be open through November 20.

NYC DOT 6th Ave Updates: Beginning this fall, NYC DOT will implement offset bus lanes and safety improvements along 6th Avenue, from Houston Street to 31st Street. Please view the flyer for more information.

DSNY Update: As of September 1, 2026, businesses located within the Midtown South Commercial Waste Zone (CWZ)–which includes the Flatiron & NoMad Neighborhoods–must have a new waste collection agreement with a DSNY-authorized CWZ carter. If your business currently contracts directly with a private waste hauler, please note that new contracts must have been signed by August 31, 2026. Additional information about the program can be found here.

Street Closures:

  • East 31st Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South will be closed from 5:30am to 12:30pm Monday through Friday through October 12 for façade inspection.
  • West 20th Street between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be closed from 11am to 11:59pm Saturday and Sunday through October 13 as part of ongoing construction projects in the area.
  • East 29th Street between Park Avenue South and Madison Avenue will be closed from 6am to 12:30pm Saturday and Sunday through October 25 for building inspection from boom truck.

 

Con Edison Work Notices:

  • Now – October 30, Con Edison will be performing gas upgrade work on West 25th Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue on weekdays from 7am – 4pm.
