Due to inclement weather, our annual Día de Muertos celebration has been rescheduled to THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND on the Flatiron North Plaza. Join us this Thursday for this free event that will feature elements integral to this historical Mexican tradition including:

An interactive community altar in partnership with the School of Visual Arts – Continuing Education
Folkloric dance performances by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company
Catrin and Catrinas from The Consulate General of Mexico in New York
Create traditional Calavera imagery with DIY printmaking by Poster House
La catrina face painting, skull decorations, and giveaway prizes

Community Altar: WHAT TO BRING

Attendees are invited to offer your memories and respects at the altar with:

Photos: Copies of your photos are encouraged, not originals.
Small Offerings: Small plants, flowers, cards, food, and candy are most welcome.
Create a message offering near the altar: Pen down heartfelt notes to your loved ones using the provided ribbons or skull-shaped note cards and markers.

This community altar is presented in partnership with the Division of Continuing Education at the School of Visual Arts and designed and elaborated by visual artist Andrea Arroyo.
