Earth Month Events in Flatiron & NoMad

 

3-Day Plant-Based Food Fair Starts Friday

Our inaugural Plant-Based Food Fair in partnership with Eleven Madison Home is this Friday, March 31st through Sunday, April 2nd from 11 am – 3 pm! The three-day event takes place on the Flatiron North Plaza highlighting plant-based options in Flatiron & NoMad.

Join the festivities and sample select menu options and products from neighborhood plant-based restaurants and businesses. This free public event will also feature family-friendly activities and live jazz music by The Jazz Gallery.

E-Waste Recycling Day on April 5

Have an old cell phone or laptop that you no longer use? Bring your old electronics to our E-Waste Recycling Day next Wednesday, April 5th from 10 am – 2 pm at the Flatiron South Plaza.

In partnership with Councilmember Carlina Rivera, the Lower East Side Ecology Center, and Madison Square Park Conservancy, be a part of this green initiative during Earth Month.

Participants get to take home free plant seeds in exchange for their e-waste, and can enter to win local gift cards.

Car Free Earth Day

Car Free Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22nd!

Hosted by the NYC Department of Transportation, Car Free Earth Day opens 30 blocks of Broadway, from Times Square to Union Square including Flatiron & NoMad, for walking, biking, and car-free strolling.

Celebrate by playing a free ping pong match or two with SPIN New York 23 on the Flatiron Public Plazas.

Additional programming will be happening across all five boroughs to promote activism and education surrounding climate change, sustainability, and other relevant topics.

Madison Square Park Conservancy: Waste Expo

Join Madison Square Park Conservancy on Saturday, April 15th for their community Waste Expo. From 11 am – 2 pm, you can participate in interactive activities that focus on reuse, donation, and recycling.

Bring lightly used items for the GrowNYC Stop ‘N’ Swap®, and take home something that’s new to you for free. Visit here for a full list of accepted items. Partners will also collect food scraps and electronics for recycling.
