Meet Rebecca Mzengi Corey, Deputy Director at Center for Book Arts (CBA), the nonprofit, gallery, and education space located at 28 West 27th Street.

“Flatiron & NoMad is such a wonderful place to come every day,” says Rebecca. “The neighborhood draws in artists and audiences from all walks of life, which means we’re constantly meeting a wonderful mix of interesting people. RFP: 2027 Winter Glow Art Installation

Calling all designers and firms! The Flatiron NoMad Partnership seeks submissions of existing public art installations to serve as the centerpiece of our Winter 2027 programming series.

Winter Glow 2027 seeks artist-driven, conceptually strong installations that transform the Flatiron NoMad district into a walkable, discovery-based art experience.

Open-Grille Security Gates: Local businesses must comply with a long-standing requirement for open-grille security gates by July 1, 2026. Compliant security grilles must provide at least 70% visibility into the storefront. Starting on July 1, 2026, the Department of Buildings (DOB) may fine non-compliant businesses. Learn more.

Street Closures:

• West 20th Street between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be closed from 7 am to 11 am Saturday and Sunday through 3/9/26 for use of knuckle boom to lift construction materials and steel.

Con Edison Work Notice:

• From 7 am – 3:30 pm through Friday, February 27th, Con Edison will perform hand care excavations at East 29th Street between Madison Avenue and Fifth Avenue.
