Blizzard Warning in Effect for NYC

Stay safe and stay warm Flatiron & NoMad! The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for NYC until 6 PM this evening. Additional snow accumulations of 9 to 14 inches and high winds are anticipated. NYC is also under a travel ban through 12 PM today, causing significant transit disruptions.

Our dedicated Clean Team is shoveling snow and clearing crosswalks on the Flatiron Plazas and along Broadway throughout the district.

Do yOUR pART to Stay Safe

Property and business owners should be prepared to do their part to keep the community safe by removing snow and ice from sidewalks outside their buildings. As a reminder, property and vehicle owners may not shovel snow into the street nor into bicycle or bus lanes.

City law requires businesses and property owners to clear snow and ice in front of their property in a timely manner. If you don’t clear your sidewalk, you may be fined up to $250 per day. Snow and ice must be cleared from sidewalks within specific timeframes:
  • Snowfall ends between 7:00 AM and 4:59 PM – Clear within 4 hours
  • Snowfall ends between 5:00 PM and 8:59 PM – Clear within 14 hours
  • Snowfall ends between 9:00 PM and 6:59 AM – Clear sidewalks by 11:00 AM

DSNY: Trash Collection Delayed Due to Snow

DSNY has begun a full-force operation of salting and plowing roads across the City. As of today, NYC regulations and services have been modified, including:

  • Trash, recycling, and compost collections are delayed. Check here for updates before putting out trash.
