NYC Council Committee on Land Use Approves Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan: We’re pleased to share that last week, the City Council Committee on Land Use approved a transformative rezoning plan as a part of the Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan (MSMX) that will create over 9,500 new housing developments in the heart of New York City. OMNY Retailer Webinar: The MTA is hosting an upcoming webinar next Thursday, August 21st at 12 pm. about the MetroCard phase-out and OMNY rollout. Register here.

Con Edison Work Notice: Through November 28, Fifth Avenue between 20th and 21st Streets will be impacted by gas line upgrades each day. Expect lane closures, limited street parking, and generator noise throughout the project.

Link NYC LinkLocal Program: LinkNYC has expanded its free ad offerings for local small businesses. Creative features that were previously only available through the paid LinkLocal Plus tier are now free for all LinkLocal users. LinkNYC has partnered with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) to host monthly webinars that help New York City-based organizations learn how to take advantage of the LinkLocal program.

Neighborhood Activations:

  • Summer Streets: Saturday, August 16th from 7 am – 3 pm along Park Avenue South throughout Flatiron & NoMad
  • India Day Parade: Sunday, August 17th at 12 pm along Madison Avenue from 38th Street to 25th Street

 

Street Closures:

  • West 29th Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway will be closed from 12:01 am Saturday to 8 pm Sunday through August 24th to facilitate crane operation.
  • West 22nd Street between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue will be closed from 9 am – 3 pm Monday to Friday through September 1st to excavate and install vault for new major service.
