New Neighbor: Casa Soglia
Jun 7, 2023
We’re pleased to welcome Casa Soglia, the new upscale Italian restaurant to the neighborhood at 365 Park Avenue South within the boutique Hotel Giraffe. Led by restaurateur and entrepreneur Gerardo Soglia, Casa Soglia was founded on the belief that culinary excellence is an art form.
“We are very excited to be in this neighborhood,” says the Casa Soglia team. “We think it’s growing so much. It is a perfect mix of communities from business to art, and we think we can be a great meeting spot for them both.”
This is Soglia’s first restaurant in the U.S. preceded by two other locations in Italy: Al Bacaro and Villa Soglia. Upon entering Casa Soglia, guests are met by a refined interior and ambiance adorned with contemporary décor, including lighting fixtures from Soglia’s companies, Laudarte and Lumen Center Italia giving the restaurant a showroom feel that’s both luxurious and inviting as is the menu.
Begin your meal with flavor-rich antipasti such as Polipo Arrostito, grilled octopus served with potatoes and broccoli rabe and Tagliere Italiano, a selection of mixed cured meats and cheeses to share. For a salad, try the Kale with smoked salmon, cherry tomatoes, and pistachio crumbs, or the Amalfi, a green salad with Amalfi coast anchovies, cherry tomatoes, and Mozzarella di Bufala. Choose from a variety of delicious pastas including, Fettuccine “Gerardo” made with fettuccine, caviar, and burrata or the Tagliolini al crudo di gamberi e crema d’aglio featuring tagliolini and raw red shrimps in a garlic sauce.
Additionally, enjoy authentic and innovative pizza such as the Mortazza with Mozzarella di Bufala, pistachio pesto, and mortadella, or the Terra featuring Mozzarella di Bufala, Prosciutto di Parma, and arugula. For a main dish, order the Tartare di Manzo, beef tartare accompanied by red onion marmalade and dill mayonnaise or the Salmone allo Zafferano made with roasted salmon in a Zafferano sauce and served with vegetables. You can also enjoy the Fiorentina for two people, a beefsteak Florentine style with roasted potatoes.
Pair your lunch or dinner with a craft cocktail or glass of wine, and end your meal with a dessert such as the light Semifreddo al Limone, a lemon parfait topped with berries, or an Italian classic, Tiramisu.
Head to Casa Soglia for your next lunch, dinner, and soon weekend brunch! Plus, stay tuned for their upcoming Terrazza Soglia, a new terrace on the 12th floor of the Hotel Giraffe that will offer a daily service of cocktails and small bites with curated live music.
Casa Soglia is currently open from Monday through Saturday for lunch served from 12 – 3pm and dinner from 5 – 10 pm. Reserve your table.
