Celebrate National Thrift Shop Day
National Thrift Shop Day is Wednesday, August 17th and is a great opportunity to support local thrift stores in the neighborhood by buying or donating second-hand goods! Shopping resale not only helps to reduce waste, but also helps to promote the important initiatives of non-profit thrift stores.
We’ve rounded up thrift shops in the district you can stop by on National Thrift Shop Day.
Crossroads Trading Co., 24 West 26th Street, (646)-398-7917
At Crossroads Trading Co., you’ll find gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories. You can also sell or trade your clothes as long as they are clean and in good condition.
Housing Works Thrift Shop, 157 East 23rd Street, (212)-529-5955
Shop a unique variety of clothing, accessories, art, furniture, and housewares at Housing Works Thrift Shop. When you buy from Housing Works, you’re supporting a non-profit organization that’s working to end AIDS and homelessness in New York City. Additionally, you can drop off your gently-used goods to donate.
The Thrifty HoG, 11 West 25th Street, (212)-206-1174
A chic resale boutique, The Thrifty HoG offers a curated selection of gently used vintage, new, and used men’s and women’s clothing as well as home décor items. Upgrade your wardrobe while shopping for a cause. All net proceeds from purchases support the non-profit Hearts of Gold, that supports homeless mothers and their children. Stop by on Wednesday for a special shopping event in honor of National Thrift Shop Day! More info can be found here.
